2022 AASVET President’s Greeting Remark by Prof. Taniguchi

As President of AASVET, I would like to offer brief greetings on the occasion of the 2022 AASVET Conference.

The AASVET conference, which started in 2005, will be held for the 18th time this year. Babies born in the year of the first AASVET Conference are finishing their secondary education this year. They will graduate from high school and either enter the workforce or go on to higher education. It means a great leap from childhood to adulthood. Our AASVET is now ready to make the leap to the next stage after a series of conferences.

Now, the annual conference, which rotates among the participating countries, is the most important opportunity to solidify the identity of AASVET organization. Nevertheless, our conference activities are severely constrained by the ongoing COVID-19 disaster. I regret to inform you that we will again have to hold this year's conference online. However, I hope that this year's conference will be a great success again with the participation of many of our members. And let's overcome the crisis of activity stagnation due to COVID-19 and further develop AASVET to the next stage.

I would like to express my respect and appreciation for the efforts of the Korean members who are the secretariat of this year's conference.
